  • 600 g cooked shredded beef Use leftover beef or pre-cooked.
  • 15 mL orange juice Cuban flavor element.
  • 10 mL lime juice Bright acidity.
  • 1 tbsp oil For frying.
  • 1 small onion, sliced Adds sweetness.
  • 1 cup sliced peppers Any color bell pepper.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Provides depth of flavor.
  • 1 tsp cumin Key seasoning.
  • 1 tsp oregano Enhances Cuban flavor.

Preparation

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the cooked shredded beef in an even layer and sauté until heated through.
  • Add sliced onion and bell peppers, cooking until they are soft, about 4-6 minutes.
  • Squeeze lime juice over the mixture and stir well to deglaze the pan.
  • Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice, accompanied by black beans.

Notes

Store leftover crispy beef in an airtight container. Cool within 2 hours and refrigerate for up to 4 days or freeze for long-term storage.
