Charming sugar cookies decorated like a field of flowers, perfect for baby showers and parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 170 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 150 g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (50 g)
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • 300 g powdered sugar for icing plus water or meringue powder

Instructions

  1. Mix butter and sugar until light, add egg and vanilla.
  2. Slowly fold in flour until just combined, then chill for 60 minutes.
  3. Roll to 4 mm thickness and cut with flower cutter.
  4. Bake at 175 C (350 F) for 8 to 12 minutes until edges set.
  5. Cool, then mix icing to piping consistency, outline, flood, and add floral details.

Notes

Chill for 10 minutes between piping color changes to prevent bleeding.
