A classic make-ahead breakfast casserole featuring crumbled sausage, eggs, and cheese, perfect for feeding a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked sausage, crumbled
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk (240 ml)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese, cheddar or preferred
  • 2 cups bread cubes or 2 cups vegetables, optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the cooked sausage, followed by the optional bread cubes or vegetables if using.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the layers.
  5. Top with shredded cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Chef tip: Allow bread cubes to sit for 5 minutes in the egg mixture for even absorption.
