A comforting and flavorful slow-cooked Mississippi Pot Roast that is tender and perfect for busy families.

Ingredients

  • 1 (3-4 pounds) chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4-5 pepperoncini peppers
  • Optional: 4-5 russet potatoes, quartered
  • Optional: 2 cups baby carrots

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Place the chuck roast in the slow cooker to create the base of your dish.
  2. Seasoning: Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
  3. Add Butter and Peppers: Place the butter on top of the beef and distribute the pepperoncini peppers around.
  4. Cook: Set the slow cooker to low heat and cook for 8 hours.
  5. Optional Additions: About 1-2 hours before serving, add quartered russet potatoes and baby carrots.

Notes

Substitutions for the chuck roast can be brisket or round roast. Always cook on low heat for the best tenderness.
