Quick, crowd-pleasing snack combining creamy mashed potatoes and melty cheddar into golden bite-sized puffs.

Ingredients

  • 500 g mashed potatoes
  • 150 g cheddar cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 60 g flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 30 g butter
  • 30 ml cream

Instructions

  1. Gather ingredients and weigh them.
  2. If using fresh potatoes, boil until fork-tender, then mash with butter and cream until smooth.
  3. In a large bowl, mix warm mashed potatoes with cheddar, eggs, flour, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Scoop mixture into golf ball-sized portions using a spoon or cookie scoop.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or fry until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

For extra crunch, brush puffs with melted butter before the last 5 minutes of baking.
