This creamy kielbasa pasta recipe is quick, comforting, and full of smoky sausage flavor. Perfect for busy weeknights or satisfying dinners.
12 oz kielbasa sausage, sliced
8 oz penne pasta
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
1. Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and reserve 1/4 cup pasta water.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high. Add kielbasa slices and brown.
3. Remove kielbasa. In the same pan, sauté onions and garlic until soft.
4. Pour in cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in parmesan and seasonings.
5. Add cooked pasta and kielbasa back to the pan. Stir to coat evenly.
6. Add pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
7. Serve hot, topped with parsley.
You can substitute half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
Add sautéed bell peppers or spinach for extra vegetables.
