Transform ordinary vegetables into a spooky skeleton centerpiece perfect for Halloween parties with this creative and healthy veggie tray.

  • 2 large white cauliflower heads (for the skull and ribcage)
  • 4 large white carrots or parsnips (for arm and leg bones)
  • 8-10 white asparagus spears (for finger bones)
  • 1 cup baby white mushrooms (for vertebrae)
  • 2 large white radishes (for joints)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (for spooky accents)
  • 2 black olives (for eye sockets)
  • 1 red bell pepper strip (for mouth)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (for dip)
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Food coloring (optional for tinted effects)

Instructions

  1. Wash all vegetables thoroughly under cold running water and pat dry.
  2. Cut cauliflower into skull-shaped pieces and smaller florets for the ribcage.
  3. Trim asparagus ends and cut white carrots into bone-like segments.
  4. Combine Greek yogurt, ranch seasoning, mayonnaise, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Whisk until smooth and creamy; season with salt and pepper.
  5. Start arranging the skeleton on a large black serving tray using the largest cauliflower piece as the skull.
  6. Use black olives for eye sockets, red pepper strips for the mouth, and arrange smaller cauliflower pieces for the ribcage.
  7. Position white carrot pieces for the arms and asparagus spears for finger bones.
  8. Create the legs with longer carrot pieces and use radish pieces as joints.
  9. Place dip bowls around the skeleton and garnish with additional cherry tomatoes.
