  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (40 g) cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (170 g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, mixing until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are firm but the centers are slightly soft.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill dough for 20 minutes if your kitchen is warm to prevent excessive spreading during bake.
