  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In an electric mixer, combine the softened unsalted butter and margarine until fluffy.
  2. Add Sugar and Eggs: Mix in the sugar gradually, half a cup at a time, alternating with the eggs until well combined.
  3. Mix in Vanilla: Add the vanilla extract to the creamy mixture and blend until fully incorporated.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mix to the wet ingredients by hand, mixing just until combined.
  5. Chill the Dough: Chill the dough for approximately 15 minutes.
  6. Prepare Baking Sheets: Place your baking pans in the fridge for 15 minutes to ensure they are cool.
  7. Load Cookie Press: Prepare your spritz cookie press as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
  8. Shape the Cookies: Press the cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with sprinkles or sanding sugar before baking.
  9. Bake: Place the cookies in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
