A savory dish featuring chicken breasts sautéed until golden brown and smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create four cutlets. Season with salt and pepper, then coat in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for about 4–5 minutes on each side until golden.
  3. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same pan, melt butter.
  4. Add sliced mushrooms and Italian seasoning. Sauté until mushrooms are seared.
  5. Remove mushrooms from the pan and add minced garlic, chicken broth, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. Stir and reduce by half.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, then add chicken and mushrooms back into the skillet. Cook for another 5 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce thickens.
  7. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot.
