A comforting baked dish featuring layers of frozen tater tots, hearty chili, and gooey cheddar cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners and potlucks.

  • 1 bag frozen tater tots (approx 32 oz, 907 g)
  • 2 cans chili, with or without beans (each 15 oz, 425 g)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (approx 200 g)
  • 1 cup sour cream (240 g)
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions (approx 50 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large baking dish, spread frozen tater tots evenly across the bottom.
  3. Pour the chili over the tater tots, spreading it evenly.
  4. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove and let cool a few minutes.
  7. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkle with chopped green onions.

Notes

Use low-sodium chili to control salt and consider swapping in meatless chili for a vegetarian option.
