A creamy and nutritious chocolate mousse made with cottage cheese and chia seeds, offering a high-protein alternative to traditional desserts.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese, full fat or low fat
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Blend the cottage cheese in a high power blender until completely smooth.
  2. Add cocoa powder, chia seeds, sweetener, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Blend until the mixture thickens slightly and turns uniformly chocolate colored.
  4. Pour the mixture into small containers and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the chia seeds to absorb liquid.

Notes

For a variation, you can add peanut butter, orange zest, or frozen berries to the mix. Store in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
