  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 3 Tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 Tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup milk chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until golden brown and nutty in aroma, then cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix in dark brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg yolk, water, and vanilla. Beat until creamy.
  4. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chunks.
  5. Transfer the batter to a 6 1/4” mini cast iron skillet or two 8-ounce ramekins.
  6. Bake for 17-19 minutes until edges are puffy and golden.
  7. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or chocolate sauce.
